Camp Geechee Hosts Summer Camp at Penn Center

This summer, Camp Geechee is coming to life for the very first time as a 3-day overnight camp experience taking place July 31st through August 2nd on St. Helena Island at the Penn Center known in the lore of Camp Geechee as Sankofa Keep.

What began as a story is becoming something real. A place for youth to experience culture, storytelling, creativity, connection, and something deeper they’ll carry with them long after camp is over.

This is more than just a camp. It’s an experience rooted in Gullah Geechee culture, history, imagination, and community. And this summer, a new group will answer the call.

Spots will be limited.
